Prague Shooting Chilling Revelations, Accused Confessed Double Murder
The note, discovered in Kozak’s residence on the same day as the university attack, detailed his involvement in the shooting deaths of a man and his baby daughter in Klanovice woods near the city on December 15, just six days before the Charles University incident.
Disturbingly, Kozak’s suicide note also unveiled his culpability in the killing of his father, elevating the total number of victims to a staggering 17. The university shooting, which occurred on December 21, stands as the deadliest mass shooting in Czech history. Kozak, a 24-year-old master’s history student at the university, took his own life after being surrounded by armed police.
The police had Kozak on a list of 4,000 suspects related to the earlier murders in Klanovice woods. The suicide note corroborated their suspicions, and ballistics later confirmed Kozak’s involvement in the double murder. Detectives expressed regret over the inability to reach him earlier despite considering him a potential suspect.
The university attack unfolded at the Faculty of Arts building on Jan Palach Square, where Kozak was observed firing a rifle from the rooftop. Thirteen individuals lost their lives on-site, and an additional victim succumbed to injuries in the hospital. A further 25 people suffered injuries in the incident.
As the investigation continues, the motive behind the killings remains undisclosed by the police.
